The Eagle Range Estate Vineyard is located near the town of Ovens in Victoria’s Happy Valley, south-east of Myrtleford, in the state’s North East. At approximately 300m in elevation the vineyard produces classic cool-climate wines which typify the Alpine Valleys wine region.
The Eagle Range Estate Vineyard is located near the town of Ovens in Victoria’s The land had previously been used for a variety of enterprises over the years including cattle, hay, chestnut and walnut trees, but the winemaking venture had long been in the back of winemaker Frank Ivone.
With the help of his father, Luigi, who arrived from Italy in 1929, and partner Tish vines were planted in 1995. The first variety to be planted was Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by Merlot. Later Tempranillo, Riesling, White Frontignac and Saperavi were added to the vineyard. Today, there are just over four hectares of vines.
